"Although it's everywhere - a truly ubiquitous symbol - it is strange that the @ sign doesn't have a proper English name. Just the utilitarian "at" monicker, as part of an email address, or to symbolise a unit cost."
A long-overdue initiative launched by Underwired to name the @ symbol. Many other countries have a word for it, but there is no English definition other than 'the at sign'.
